Yasuko Nishiyama became the Acting General Manager of NZIIU in June 2010 after 2 years in the organization as the Assistant General Manager at NZIIU. She has worked in the New Zealand tourism industry since 1997. In particular Yasuko has an affinity for the education sector of tourism and still enjoys it to this day. She has travelled overseas widely and enjoys seeking new and exciting destinations so as to experience different cultures.

Sue Hooper is the Manager of our South Island office in Christchurch and is responsible for the Inbound Long Term Exchange Students as well as short term school groups based in the South Island. Sue has a vast background of experience based on over 20 years of hosting students in her home in addition to18 years of working full-time for NZIIU.

Seiko Miyazaki joined NZIIU in June 2010. She has the responsibility for managing all arrangements for FFP (full fee paying) students studying in New Zealand and is directly taking care of all FFP students in North Island. She is very experienced in the tourism industry both in Japan and in New Zealand and has handled many educational tours. Seiko has enjoyed working as a student counselor and taking care of students.

David Koh has worked as the Accountant for NZIIU for over 8 years. He is a Provisional Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand, based on his degree and his commercial and accounting experience. His wide-ranging job covers areas such as payments to our homestay families and to schools for the hire of facilities as well as the regular invoicing which is part of any such organisation.

Ian Lambert has been the coordinator of outbound exchange programmes at NZIIU for five years. Previously he was an experienced journalist and both a secondary and tertiary teacher. He uses many of these skills in his current position, promoting NZIIU exchange programmes as the first choice for New Zealand students. He has lived and worked in the USA and Thailand for 7 years and travelled extensively in other countries as well.

Michelle Stickley works alongside Sue Hooper in our Christchurch office. She is heavily involved with both short term groups studying in the South Island and overseas exchange students. She has a particular responsibility for exchange students based in Christchurch as she is a Regional Homestay Manager. Michelle has worked for NZIIU for 5 years as an Inbound Tour Coordinator and as an ESOL tutor.

Betty Lin looks after the travel arrangements and visa application process for exchange students going overseas. She also helps to manage the fee paying students studying in secondary schools here.Her degree in Japanese and Diploma in secondary teaching and her interest in Japanese culture have ensured that she has quickly found her feet.Betty loves to travel she has lived in Japan for a year as a exchange student.

Yuka Okabe joined NZIIU as an Inbound Tour Coordinator in September 2010. Yuka organizes short-term programmes including English classes, activities and accommodation.Previously Yuka has worked as a student advisor/homestay coordinator and recently completed a course in tourism. She enjoys visiting new countries and learning about different cultures.
